1966 VW Beetle – Robert’s Build

Purchase date: 22nd May 2022

This car has minimal rust in the body and is pretty straight. The heat channels have a some starting in the rear corners, but there is nothing in the wheel wells, bumper brackets or normal spots.  It’s getting harder to find bodies like this that don’t need everything. The doors have minimal rust, regulators, and vent windows.

The dash is the worse part of the car and will need some attention or replacement. Seats all have upholstery and the frames are in good shape to recover. Gas tank is in great shape, twin-speed wiper assembly, wide fiberglass rear fenders, wiring harness is intact.

The pan halves are solid and have had small repair work done to them. The pan is from a clean CO titled 1971 VW Beetle that I picked up back in the late 90’s. Most of the pieces are there to make a car other than the engine. Rear body mounts will need to be relocated to get the body to sit on the pan.

This is going to be a great early Dub project car!
